The Torne River together with Kalix River is one of Western Europe’s largest unexploited water systems, which are tied together by the nation’s largest bifurcation, the Tärendö River.

The National River day is a tribute to the free national rivers. You will experience river rafting with torches to the sound of the National River anthem by Ralph Lundsten.

The National River day is always celebrated on the third Saturday in August. Welcome!
