National River Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in August. National River Day was first celebrated in 1996. The purpose of the day is to honour our national rivers, which give us vitality, inspiration, experiences, passion and daily bread. Our myths and dreams reflect the great importance of free water for humanity. So National Rivers Day symbolises much more than protecting wild salmon or preserving our own free rivers. For only people who care for their water can share its life-giving power.
Let’s celebrate with great food and drink! We welcome you to book a table for an unconventional wine and food tasting. During National River Day, we will be serving a guided 6-course dinner in the restaurant with a selection of local dishes and selected beverages. Dinner must be booked in advance. Dinner starts at 19:30.
Torchlight procession with boats on the river at 21:00. It is a festive moment where torch boats and great music drown out the roar of the river. A moment to reflect on the wonderful natural resources we have. Open to all!
